Explain the User Side and Server Side
Factors That Influence the Performance of a Website

For
this file I will be explaining about the following points. These include:
User Side Factors:
Download
Speed
PC
Performance Factors
Server Side Factors:
Web
Server
File
Types
User Side Factors:
User side factors are all the stuff which has an impact on the performance of the entire website. These include factors such as the PC’s performance and also the download speed. These types of factors are established on how good a website will work and also about how quick the speeds of the websites are.
Download
Speed:
Download speed of a website is about how quick the website will take to load up. There are many different issues which can pop up that can reduce the speed when loading a website. Many of these factors that are a drawback for the download speed would include: viruses, the amount of webpages that are opened within the browsers, the type of internet connection that you are using, how big the pages are and there are more issues as well. If you have a lot of web pages open then this will reduce the speed due to the fact that the processor has split the speed of the pages.
PC
Performance Factors:
The PC performance factors will include the processor speed, cache memory and also the browser and all these factors also have an impact on the download speed as well.
Browser:
A browser is an application where you can see webpages. There are many different web browsers which are available to use but the most used one is Google Chrome. The reason being for this is that it is much faster than Internet Explorer and it is easier to navigate around the web page than internet explorer. There are also other types of web browsers which include safari, Mozilla Firefox etc.
Processor Speed:
The processor speeds is about how quick the information is being transferred. The quicker your processor is then the quicker the performance of your system will be.
Cache Memory:
This is a temporary memory that is used to store vital data/information within the computer. This is used frequently so that when you search it can be done quicker of storing rather than searching and storing it in the main memory that is located on the computer.
Server Side Factors:
These types of factors would include: the file formats, the type of processors used, size of the webpage etc.
Web Server Capacity:
This is where the capacity of a web server’s bandwidth that is accessible, the performance of a webpage is loaded and the number of people who are viewing the web page at a simultaneously time.
Bandwidth:
The bandwidth is the total of information that can be downloaded. The larger the bandwidth you use then the more you will be able to download from a website.
Execution:
When you open a webpage, the code of that web page will then be executed. The more codes that there is then the longer it will take for a webpage to load up. If you have less codes then the webpage will take quicker to load.
File Types:
There are many different types of file types. These include Vector, JPG, GIF, Bitmap and there are many more.
Vector: This type of format allows the image to be made bigger but not lose its quality.
JPG: This file format will reduce the quality of the image due to the fact that it reduces the file size of an image.
Gif: This file format will reduce the quality of the image due to the fact that it reduces the file size of an image.
Bitmap: This file format will allow you to store the colour data for the amount of each pixel throughout the image but without the compression being made.
